Congrats on reaching 10,000 hits! Our favourite family dish at the moment is good old spag bol. The kids devour it and I like that you can sneak some veggies into the sauce too.

Thanks Kristin. I'm all in favour of sneaking in veg where possible. We also love spag bol but my boys always comment everyone eles recipe is better than mine!!! They are my harshest critics!

Congrats on the milestone, great to see the numbers on the rise for the first year of the blog :)

As far as family dinners, I'd have to say pork pieces cooked in egg and breadcrumbs (pan fried) with roast veg and potatoes. One of the very few family meals I can remember from growing up where we all ate the same dish!

Congrats on reaching your 10,000 hits.

My favourite family dinner is shepherds pie - really winter-warming food with crispy mashed potatoes on top. Yummy.

Congratulations! As a fellow blogger you've given me hope that people might be looking at my page even though they're not following me(must check the stats!)

We love to cook but if the children are ever asked what they'd like for a special meal it almost always comes down to a good old Roast Chicken, usually with garlic slivers under the skin, sprinkled with herbs and stuffed with lemons, and all accompanying home grown veg of course - whatever's in season and absolutely with roast potatoes!

Congrats indeed! That's quite the milestone. I think my favourite family dish would have to be macaroni cheese - with leeks and frankfurters, a bit naughty but so comforting! Here's to the 100,000!

Thanks, Ken, that sounds like a yummy combination! I must try to russle up something similar.

Girlfromthehills- Shepards Pie is a great family dish! Marcos ad for stock pots last year got me back making it. Perfect comfort food.

Dee, As a lover of butter I like to include it in most dishes so I normally squeeze some under the skin but I love the idea of garlic. Definately a healthier option!!

Lu- My boys regularly request mac cheese. A real family favourite!!
Your dish for chef factor looks amazing!! It's such a fantastic prize. I'm hoping to also enter. Best of Luck!!

Congratulations on reaching 10,00 hits! :)

Favourite family dinner is probably Thai Green curry. Easy to make, and everyone's always happy with it!

Congrats on reaching 10,000 hits! My fave family dinner would probably be spaghetti meatballs. A nice twist on spag bol I think, meatball form makes it tastier to me!

Nessa Robins said...

Thanks Niamh. I agree and I always feel that a Thai Green curry is a lighter and fresher alternative to a regular curry. Thanks for your comment!

Breige, That's funny I have a post on meatballs ready to publish next week. They are great with a bol sauce or creamy tomato sauce with spagetti or mash. Yeah really versatile. Thanks for your entry.

Congrats on hitting the big 10,000!

My favourite family dish has to be beef bourguignon. It takes a bit of effort but I love to put the effort in and make it a great family meal! Plus it's my Dads favourite.

Thanks Sarah,
I always find beef bourguignon a great entertaining dish as it can be made the day before and tastes even better the next day!! Thanks for your comment.

Congratulations!

Our favourite family dish is lasagne :) I cook the meat and my hubby always makes the white sauce!

Nessa Robins said...

Thanks Jenny. Another great dish when you need to feed a crowd! and a homemade white sauce is a must!!

Well done Nessa on the success of your blog, a lot of hard work goes into it! Our favourite family dinner is chile con carne on a bed of tortillas with home made guacamole and salsa. Yummy!!

Nessa Robins said...

Thanks Erika. That sounds delicious! Fiona had mentioned that you use chick peas instead of kidney beans in your chilli. I thought that was a great idea as I find the kids don't like kidney beans. Made it since with chick peas and def prefer them!!

Congratulations Nessa, here's to your continuing success! My eldest is 3 and when given the choice he'll always opt for 'pasta and sauce' so that's the dish we eat most often. I'm another big fan of hiding veggies so the sauce tends to be a version of turkey or beef bol with lots of pureed veg. Easy to make in big batches and freeze too.

Well my crew are all pasta and sauce lovers but it's true so much can be disguised in a sauce!!
Thanks for your comment.Nessa.
